Marika is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department.
Educated at the London School of Economics and Political Science, with earlier academic study at Columbia University, the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford, Marika brings intellectual rigour and an international perspective to corporate law. Her practice focuses on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and strategic investments, particularly where cross-border investment, competition and technology converge.
Her experience across venture capital and technology ventures has given her a practical understanding of how technology businesses are built, financed and scaled. She has advised on legal matters relating to product and platform architecture, commercial contracting and data strategy, as well as investment structuring, governance and control. This experience underpins her particular focus on data-driven business models, artificial intelligence and the increasingly strategic role of data governance and privacy in technology-led businesses. Her understanding of AI is supported by formal Google Cloud Skills training in Large Language Models and Generative Artificial Intelligence, giving her insight into the technologies underpinning modern AI systems and the legal and commercial questions arising from their deployment.
Marika’s regulatory practice complements her corporate and technology work across distinct but increasingly interconnected areas. In the transactional context, she advises on foreign direct investment screening and merger control, including filings before the Cyprus Ministry of Finance and the Cypriot Commission for the Protection of Competition. Separately, her technology and data practice includes handling data protection matters and data incidents before the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. This breadth enables her to move confidently between the corporate, competition and technology dimensions of a matter, identifying the legal and regulatory pressure points capable of affecting execution, risk, market position and strategic decision-making.
With her understanding of market dynamics, investment structures and technological change, Marika is able to anticipate legal and strategic risks before they become obstacles to execution or growth. Her approach is focused on protecting value, preserving strategic flexibility and giving clients the clarity to make decisive commercial decisions from a position of strength.
